Build Identifier: 3.5.1 M20090917-0800 When I'm trying to add a new comment to a Jira issue in the rich editor the current line is highlighted. Due to this, I am not able to see the text I am typing. I think due to my Linux theme the background is black, but there is no option to change the editor to use a different foreground or background color. In this case they are both black. I can only get around this by using Plain Text for the editor (which is not my preference). Reproducible: Always

You can change the color or disable highlighting under General > Editors > Text Editor. Please reopen if that does not work for you.
That appears to be exactly the problem. In General > Editors > Text Editor I have an almost black as my background, yellow as my foreground and black as my background color. This is how I like to edit my code. In the Mylyn task editor, none of those values are used for the text. I get a white background with a black foreground (note that none of those are from my settings). For the current line, the task editor DOES use the general setting for the highlight, but not for the foreground and background. Therefore I get unreadable text. In my opinion, Mylyn should provide its own text editor settings for colors, like the C++ mode does. Otherwise, use all of the general settings or none of them. By using a portion of the general settings the user can get unreadable text. This is often a problem with people that want to use black backgrounds. I don't feel I should change my settings for editing my code to satisfy Mylyn. Thanks very much!
Ok. It would be great if you could take a look at the very similar bug 257001 and add your requirements there. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 257001 ***
