Description Ed Burnette CLA 2003-01-13 10:21:12 EST
I support a lot of other people's code and documentation and I find myself
searching for things constantly. These items are not in any workspace so I
have to start a separate program (e.g. an editor or grep) to search. I would
like to be able to do a text search in eclipse on an arbitrary directory and
have the results show up in the search window where I can click on them and go
to the right lines like any ordinary search.
Comment 1 Erich Gamma CLA 2003-02-21 04:52:50 EST
moving to Platform-Search.
Comment 2 Dani Megert CLA 2003-02-21 04:55:59 EST
Can't be done in a reasonable way without corresponding support for external
resources from Core and Platfrom UI.
Comment 3 DJ Houghton CLA 2003-02-21 13:03:37 EST
Related to bug 2869.
Comment 4 John Arthorne CLA 2005-01-06 12:25:14 EST
Marking old enhancement requests that we don't intend to fix in the near future
as RESOLVED LATER. This does not mean we will never do them, but it means we
have no specific plans to address them.
Comment 5 Ed Burnette CLA 2005-07-27 14:28:36 EDT
Could this be considered for 3.2?
Comment 6 John Arthorne CLA 2009-08-18 16:14:21 EDT
[LATER->WONTFIX] The "LATER" bugzilla resolution is being removed so reopening to mark as WONTFIX.
