Backport the fix for bugzilla#260931 to wtp 3.0.5

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
The bugzilla#260931 is an important fix for us since we will receive around 1000 exceptions each month from our users. The users will still see these exceptions unless we backport it to wtp 3.0.5.

One more to request be given priority to put in 3.0.5 patch stream. It "clutters logs" of adopter products that use the 3.0.5 version of WTP. 

Since backport, and since it is in the same bundle as some of the other 3.0.5 patches we've requested, it should not be much extra effort.
