Open the Progress view. 2. Do something that creates progress tasks, like Check for Updates. 3. Click on the various tasks that appear, to select them.

Well let's start with considering this a Mac issue.

The "user operation in progress" dialog has the same issues (the one that appears when you try to do something like saving a file, while the workspace is busy with another operation like building).
