Description Andrew Niefer CLA 2009-09-24 09:09:30 EDT
When editing a target definition, I can add content from a Software Site using p2. However, the Add Content tab of the wizard only shows features, it does not allow you to select individual bundles.

What's wrong with the directory option?
Comment 2 Andrew Niefer CLA 2009-09-24 11:34:58 EDT
Directory option requires me to find and download the bundles and put them in a directory. I'm lazy :) It would be nice to just choose a bundle I want and get it (and its dependencies) from repos I already have populated in my preferences.

I see now, you want what I want :)

My goal in 3.6 is have three things done around target management:

1) target definitions should have a list of repos to search from... these should be decoupled from what they are looking for (they aren't currently). We should probably also have a global list of repos in PDE preferences versus just in target definitions.

2) The ability to open a dialog in similar vain to Open Type (Ctrl+Shift+T) and have that bundle provisioned and added to your target

3) The ability for quickfixes if you can't find a missing import or missing entry in MANIFEST.MF... to eventually call p2 to search and find things to add to your target.

I believe Curtis is kinda working on #1 with the rework of the target definition stuff. I plan on working on #2 and #3 once Curtis has made some progress.

I'm going to mark this a dupe of bug 291227 which will have this ability.
