mylyn provides a generic mechanism that can be used to discover mylyn connectors. this mechanism is quite similar to what is currently available on pulsar. it would be nice if pulsar quickinstall view could be adapted to use the same mechanism that is available on mylyn.

Fyi, with the October 26th release of Mylyn 3.3 the Discovery component is more reusable, no longer coupled to Mylyn Connectors, and being extended by tools like the SpringSource Tool Suite (bug 284501).
