Steps To Reproduce:
1. Instal Eclipse IDE for Java and Report Developers
2. Choose 'Check for Updates'
3. Chose the modules to update

The updater shows 'Available Updates' with the message 'Cannot complete the request. Generate details.' for a long time - more than an hour on a Intel i7 920 machine with 4 GB RAM having Vista x64 installed. The process takes up to 70% of the processor.

This is a know problem but it is the first time we see it at this scale. Could you add to bug 266687 please provide the details as requested in the initial comment of bug 266687. This will be very helpful for us to try to reproduce the problem. Thx.
