The Web Templates connector, previously the Generic Web connector, can be used for retrieving task descriptions from web-based applications that do not have a rich connector.  Due to requiring a advanced configuration of regular expressions, and being fragile to changes in the formatting of the HTML, it is currently one of the incubation components.  However, it does appear to have an active user community in spite of being harder to install (you need to manually add the download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/incubator update site). We can consider whether we should make it easier to access via the discovery mechanism. We're currently not listing incubation/sandbox components on discovery, since the update site mechanism seems like a reasonable way to install those.  Could revisit with sufficient feedback.
