Steps To Reproduce:
1. Share a project in CVS
2. Create a version tag for it
3. Open "Configure Branches and Versions" dialog box from "CVS Repositories" view
4. Select the version tag from "Remembered tags for these projects:" area
5. Click on "Remove" and then "Ok" buttons
6. Do the "Refresh Branches..." for the CVS Repository location
6. Expand the "Versions" list for this project in the "CVS Repositories" view
7. You'll find out that the version tag is still existing

The "Remove" button on that dialog is for removing cached tags only. I assume that what you would like to have is an option to delete a CVS tag, so I'm marking this bug as a dupe of bug 73032. If I missed something or my assumption is incorrect feel free to reopen this bug and explain why this doesn't work for you.
