I work a lot with splitted editors. I can nicely fit two editors horizontally alongside. Doing so allows for less editor switching. Reopening the task loses this state, I need to resplit it each time I open a task.
It has become a really tedious task to do so every time.


[In http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/UI_Design#Open_Questions (Editors) this is listed as an open question: "Should split editor state be restored? The workbench does not restore it on startup."
I wholeheartedly say: YES, PLEASE!
