I live in Hong Kong and often when installing updates or plugins from the Ganymede update site the installation download just freezes up.  Donwloading freezes when accessing http://eclipse.stu.edu.tw.  This has happened on several machines running eclipse in linux and windows in our office and we've been observing this issue since last November, 2008.

We had a number of transport problems in 3.4, but the 3.5 release is much better. We have replaced the HTTP client we were using, and fixed many bugs in this area. Please enter a new bug against RT > Equinox > p2 if you still encounter this problem in 3.5 M7 or later.
