How about also adding a sysout+log message to the metadata generator?
Once you have the thing integrated into your build-infrastructure
you won't poll changes in the wiki.

Ian could you please make sure that the do clearly says something about this.
As for the code change we will not do this for 3.5 (maybe 3.5.1)

We should also do the same for the PDE Build side of things.  I'm not sure if the use can easily control whether they use the generator or the publisher.  CCing Andrew for that side.
