Description Paul Foreman CLA 2009-02-09 17:39:01 EST
Build ID: I20090202-1535

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Install 3.5M5 build
2. Launch the platform
3. Go to Window -> Preferences
4) Go to Install/Update -> Available software sites
5) Set all sites to disabled
6) Click Ok to close the preferences
7) Select Help -> Install New Software

At this point a search begins of all the disabled sites even though the user specified through the preferences to not search those sites.

Going back to the preference page shows that all sites have been set back to enabled after the search.

More information:
You can disable these sites again after the search through the preference page. If you then perform a second search for new software, this time it does not perform a search on the disabled sites and leaves the sites disabled in the preference page.

Hm, I thought this was a dup of bug 262964, but this actually looks like a UI problem. In bug 262964 we are only re-enabling certain sites on startup.

I just tried this scenario, and I believe that it is indeed a duplicate of bug 262964. I disabled all of my sites and then opened the install wizard. It reenabled three of the sites (the ones that are preconfigured into the product - galileo, pde tools, and updates/3.5. As reported, it only happens once. I tried to disable the sites again and this time the wizard opened with no sites enabled.

I'll provide more detailed info about the repos in question in the other bug.

I'm assuming you only had those three sites enabled, so it looked like it was reenabling all of them. Please reopen this bug if you have a case where other sites are getting reenabled and provide the sites in question.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 262964 ***
