It would be nice to have the New & Noteworthy available a few weeks before the release to give early adopters incentive to update to RCs and report bugs before the final release.
what's the due date for this?
I think the sooner we do this the better. It usually takes 1-2 hours so I am not sure if we can prioritize it and will get it done by end of next week.
what is the format that you prefer for noteworthy content? (Is there a template?)
We use a simple HTML table. You can use the current N&N as a template: /mylyn/new/new.html.
David: Be sure not to make your screenshot wider than the widet image in the current New & Noteworthy.
To help simplify my work on this one I've created an XML+XSL -> HTML template in /org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.ui/docs/new It's a work in progress, but for me so far it has removed the need to worry about presentation and document structure when creating new/noteworthy content. Basically I author content in /org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.ui/docs/new/new-3.1.xml and transform it to HTML using /org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.ui/build-helper.xml The result is created as /org.eclipse.mylyn.wikitext.ui/docs/new/new-3.1.html Let me know if you like it, it may be useful for Mylyn.

Max width of screenshots should be 600px.
Looks great! It could make sense to move the description about attachment table decoration into the Bugzilla section and change it to "Support for deprecating attachments" to cover bug 152065. I have also marked bug 244553 as noteworthy which I think should be included as well. Rob, please update to the latest, I fixed a few typos.

Rob, this shoud also be added to the N&N: 220006: Keep a newly opened (incoming) bug in the task list or make it easier to return to https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=220006
Another one: 266403: make it easier to add remote tasks to the Task List https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=266403
David, Steffen: I just noticed that with WikiText enabled, I need to hold Ctrl to get bug hyperlinks in the New Comment editor. This is a change and some could interpret the hyperlinking as being broken. If there isn't a straightforward fix we'll have to document this prominently in the New & Noteworthy.

I'm +1 for changing this to the behavior of the "plain" task editor and preview mode which does not require clicking if there are no severe performance implications.

Steffen you can look into it before then if you like. I've created bug 266524 to track the issue.
Should also add bug 194614.
And bug 227052. We should also consider including bug 215116 and point users to Eclipse Babel.
Screenshots added.

Awesome. I have updated the JIRA section. Marking resolved.
Nits: * Add task repository settings page * On help, add plug for WikiText saying that we generate the docs from the FAQ, link to resource or section in N&N * Clarify internationalization item to encourage people to add translations * Add easier way to add to Task List * WikiText: add quoted region, Java stack trace, content assist showing both markup and bugs, add mention of F1 for cheat sheet * Schedule button: default behavior is to schedule for today, fix reference to toolbar * "Add Tasks not in Task List": We recommend creating queires, but..., mention that it will go into Uncategorized * "Comment Text Flow": insert into another section * WikiText section in Task Editor * Create a "Framework and API": check with Steffen that we're listing everything, add "Task Editor Extensibility" * "Focused UI" -> "Task Context" * "Jira" -> "JIRA" * "Markup Conversion": edit "Mylyn User Analysis" action out of the screenshot
Nits have been addressed. Steffen, you have the lock on this for adding any additional items to the Framework and API section.
Looks great! I don't think there were any other significant API enhancements. The only minor tweak I made was to add a link to the porting guide.
Clicking on the "Framework and API (1)":http://www.eclipse.org/mylyn/new/new-weekly.html#framework link in the table of contents doesn't scroll the page to the framework and api section
Thanks. I have fixed the anchor. David, please feel free to tweak minor errors of that sort directly in the new-weekly.html :).

Is there a reason why bug# 169916 (make strikethrough font optional and consider supporting on non-win32 platforms)? The query show 34 but in the html there are only 26.
When the document gets long like in this case we sometimes decide to skip more minor enhancements, but I agree that the new configuration option for strikethrough is worth an entry. Rob, can you add that?

I believe this is sufficiently covered in the "Resolved Bugs in Strikethrough" section of the N&N.

This is under the "Task Editor" so I first not saw that the last sentence is for the "Task List".
