I am trying to create a BIRT report where upon each page there is one professional resolution diagram and the appropriate header and footer information. My needs are as follows: •These diagrams require a high resolution as they have many intricate parts. I need to use 2940 by 1680. •The diagram should be presented with the same aspect ratio as it appears in the source. •The diagram should be confined to a vertical space that will not so it will not be cut off nor cause it or the footer to prematurely paginate. •The diagram should also be combined into the horizontal space so it will not be cut off. So in summary what I’m after is a high resolution image of an arbitrary diagram presented in the same proportion as the original and confined to a single page with its attendant header and footer information. I have managed to achieve these objectives piecemeal, but not at the same time. ----------- Similar comments from co-worker... I remember the problem relating to BIRT not respecting layout constrinats as it says it does. More specifically, when both dimensions are set to % of parent, one gets respected while the other goes unconstrained and gets cut on the page boundary if larger. Trying to specify a specific (vs %) physical measurement for that wrong dimension, gets respected but distorts the aspect ratio. What we want is the ability to specify a "maximum" width and height (the page size) for the image and let BIRT resizes it so it does not lose aspect ratio and does not violate any of those 2 constraints.
This certainly looks to be a usability issue with the report template/layout that should be addressed.
This requirement should be the same with bug #240805, set to duplicate *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 240805 ***
Please set the "fit to container" to true if the image size is larger than the master page or its container. Mark the bug as verified.
