As part of https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=191445 we plan to make enhancements to the BIRT expression behavior.

This bugzilla entry to track following changes
1) Identify all the BIRT designer UI which uses expression and will require change to support entering constant values

2) UI mockup for expression builder changes

3) List out any BIRT properties that should be changed to 'expression' type
