The feature detail info shown by the current About>Feature Details dialog contains info that does not appear in the metadata for the feature/IU group that is generated from the feature. (Or at least not in the description property). Need to understand where that info is coming from and get it into the p2 metadata. Otherwise we are losing info by moving to a common about dialog. Note also that this includes branding info about the feature. I'll attach screenshots comparing info shown about Eclemma.

This information is not coming from the feature itself, but from its associated branding plug-in (in this case it is the eclemma ui plug-in). The content you are seeing is coming from the about.properties. We may want to take a chance to review that as part of the update manager replacement story. Also here we have to be careful wrt which file is shown where.
Pascal, are you suggesting here that we include the about content from a feature's branding plug-in in the metadata that we generate for the feature?
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it.
