Description Tim Mackinnon CLA 2002-11-01 08:02:00 EST
While the microsoft guidlines say that Ctrl-F6 switches between documents, in
practical terms with a mouse in one hand and keyboard in the other - Ctrl-F6 is
inconveniant to type and you often have to switch between editor windows in
java code. You end up letting go of the mouse finding f6 and then returning
back to the mouse.

In many applications (e.g. textpad), the alternative of Ctrl-tab is provided
(easy to remember as Alt-tab is used to switch between applications). This
combintation also has the conveniance of being an easy one handed key to type.

It is possible to change the keybinding for next/previous editor to Ctrl+Tab and
Ctrl+Shift+Tab. This way the traditional Window style is used.
BUT ....
While repetitive pressing Ctrl+F6 will bring you to the next, next, next .. and
eventually to the current editor. Ctrl+Tab does not. It only works ONCE.
