Description Mike Kucera CLA 2008-09-16 18:05:26 EDT
Steps to reproduce:
- Open the Remote Services property page on an RDT project
- Select a service
- Click Configure, dialog pops up
- It says Local even if the service has been set up on a remote connection
- Select a remote connection
- Click OK
- Click Configure again, dialog pops up
- It says Local again

The configure dialogs should be initialized to show the current configuration for the service, and it should remember changes as you are editing the configurations.

Please see patch in bug 246900.

The part of the patch that tries to make the HostSelectionDialog and RemoteServicesProviderSelection dialog show prior selections when they are launched does not seem to work. For starters, if you have not yet hit ok in the wizard and allowed the ServiceModelWizardPageOperation to run, then the provider will not actually be configured, so you are going to get back null for everything. Secondly, it doesn't seem to work, for whatever reason, even if I do it later after the project is fully created and configured.

Let me take a look again...hmm...it was working fine in my runtime.

Question: are you testing this with an existing project? I realize it wasn't really working for me when I was testing it with an existing project (created before my changes) but it seems to work on projects created with my changes.

patch

Somehow this small part was missing in my previous patch and that's why it wasn't working.
