*** Bug 120789 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Created attachment 116688 [details] org.eclipse.equinox.p2.weblistener Attached is a really rough proof of concept that I had hacked up for the June 2008 BarCamp in Ottawa. Here are of the questions left unanswered: - what happens if there are multiple instances of eclipse running - is there a wellknown port, or is it "found" by the browser. - security

When you say "this time", you mean 3.5 or...? I presume this will become more and more relevant as the Eclipse-on-the-web e4 effort evolves.
I meant 3.5. I suspect the 4.0 problem will be slightly different from this because we will be looking for synchronization between a "client" and a "server".

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
Recent Eclipse Installers support web link integration already.
