Description George Van Treeck CLA 2008-08-14 18:40:49 EDT
Build ID: I20080617-2000

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Create new directory for a "clean" workspace
2. Download and install Eclipse 3.4 J2EE
3. Select Help->Software Updates->Eclipse Project Update Site->Uncategorized->build utility feature for equinox p2 plugins
4. Click install

More information:

This is blocking the installation PDT (PHP language support) that seems to depend on this and other modules with an invalid zip format.

Environment: Windows XP SP 2 with latest automatic updates. Java 1.6.0_07.

The above steps to reproduce generate the following error message:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
Error closing the output stream for master-equinox-p2/org.eclipse.update.feature/1.0.0.v20080506-4--8Mc44yANsYbyiqu-z-uDo0 on repository file:/E:/devtools/eclipse/.
Error unzipping C:\DOCUME~1\georgevt\LOCALS~1\Temp\master-equinox-p2_1.0.0.v20080506-4--8Mc44yANsYbyiqu-z-uDo044362.jar: Invalid zip file format

I tried re-downloading and re-insalling Eclipse several times and ran update to get the latest versions of the libraries. The problem persists. There are some other "uncategorized" modules that also produce the "Invalid zip file format" errors.

Sorry, I don't see anything relating to EMF Validation here. It looks like the problem is in an Equinox JAR?
Comment 2 George Van Treeck CLA 2008-08-14 19:01:13 EDT
As I said in the description. The install also fails for soem of the other "uncategorized" features, like com.ibm.iu. So, it's either an install validation problem or mulitple corrupted jar files.
