While setting up the Ganymede online infocenter here at Eclipse.org we needed to update the banner. Under 3.3 this could be done by unpacking the webapp.jar file and changing the banner.html directly. This is no longer possible and the current documentation about adding a custom banner in the infocenter is not clear on what the new method is. So I'm requesting either an easier way to specify a custom banner, or an update to the documentation that makes it clear you need to build a custom plugin to get a new banner into the infocenter. -M.
I agree that the process has got harder since the introduction of P2. I'll update the docs.
I have added a new help page org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/guide/ua_help_infocenter_preferences.htm which talks about how to add customizations, such as changing the banner, to infocenters.
