Description Kai Toedter CLA 2008-07-03 04:07:54 EDT
Build ID: I20080617-2000

Use Case: A fully localized RCP app wants to provide different splash screens for different locales.

Current solution: Modify the osgi.spashPath either in a customized config.ini or in the product configuration.

Example result in config.ini: osgi.splashPath=platform:/base/plugins/com.siemens.ct.mp3m.branding.blue,platform:/base/plugins/com.siemens.ct.mp3m.branding.blue.german

When installing an exported product with this osgi.splashPath, the generated config.ini contains just:
osgi.splashPath=platform\:/base/plugins/com.siemens.ct.mp3m.branding.blue

More information:
This is not a killer feature but I would be interested how I could provide localized splash screens without modifying the config.ini of the installed product manually.

Not sure where this should go, trying p2 first...
Comment 2 Andrew Niefer CLA 2009-12-07 11:42:01 EST
Not sure what would have caused this in 3.4, perhaps related to bug 222260.

In any case, today, the publisher will overwrite the osgi.splashPath with a value from the .product file. It should check that the property is not already set via a <property> in the .product

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
