Description Randy Hudson CLA 2002-09-19 09:06:32 EDT
When doing a merge, I should be able to select an item in the Synchronize View,
and have its history appear in the history view. I am just trying to see the
release comment. Is there a way to see the release comment in the Sync View?
Even if there is, I still think this is a valid request.

It should be fairly straight forward to put the entry for the incoming revision
into the history view. The problem is to decide on how and when this happens. I
would suggest that we feed the history view when the file is opened. The reason
being that people expect that a single click will not contact the repository if
they have "open on double-click" enabled.

Solution may involve ways of showing the release comment in the sync view.
We've tried auto-filling the history view in the past -- the problem is that
you don't want it always, and there aren't any good rules in the UI for being
more selective.

If automatically doing this is too annoying, give me a manual way to do it that
is more accessible. Or maybe a "link" toolbar toggle on the history View.
Comment 4 Jean-Michel Lemieux CLA 2003-07-14 22:02:51 EDT
The release comment is shown in the remote name area in the compare editor
opened from the new sync view. We are looking at showing this information in the
view iteself without opening a compare editor, but that is another issue. For
now you can see the comment of the incoming change.

There are several other PRs about showing comments/username in view.
