Description T Kruse CLA 2008-05-09 10:16:01 EDT
Build ID: I20080502-0100

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Go to help, Software updates, Available Software
2. for a valid site, select a number of items
3. enter some search text in the filter textbox
4. check that the previously slected items are not selected anymore
5. Remove filter text
6. Tree shows site as containing selections, but no item as selected

More information:
Not sure really what the intended funtinality here is, whether the filter should always invalidate all that I have selected so far ot not. But If I just installed Eclipse, and started picking several updates, can't find my favorite one, search for it, and have to start all over again, that surely cannot be the intended functionality

I also noticed this using I20080507-2000.

Moving this use case over to bug # 229735.
This behavior is not by intention. There are some pretty serious problems with how this checkbox viewer maintains its selections in the face of filtering. See that bug (and its older blocking bugs) for details...
