Description Hubert Leung CLA 2008-04-28 11:12:08 EDT
Currently, all predefined queries cannot accept filter criteria. They are for getting the full set of data (e.g. all teachers, all classes, etc.)

We need to demonstrate the ability to provide parameters for these queries in a dialog box. For example, search for a computer system by serial number. I expect to see a pop dialog box with a text field where I enter the serial number. There should be a framework in place for deployers to add their own custom dialog box and generate the appropriate query.

I think this feature is a lot more useful than the query builder because the CMDBf query syntax should not be exposed at the UI level. It's not a common use case for end users to create queries from scratch.

This is already possible. I think we need to provide a tutorial to show how this is possible.

Beside documentation/tutorial, it may be a good idea to have a predefined query that uses customized dialog for the exmaple MDR.

Re-targeting to future since this is due to resource constraints.
