Steps To Reproduce:
Tasktop (tasktop.com) uses an update site that requires authentication (http://tasktop.com/update/<username>/ide).  When trying to access this using M6a (Software Updates...->Manage Sites), the UI basically locks up and you must kill eclipse.  Looking at the code it appears that ECF is blocking until a response is given.

This issue was fixed in the I20080410-1022 build.

I think the relevant bug is actually bug 215927. In any case, support for accessing repositories requiring authentication has been added in recent builds.

bug #225062 was dealing with the UI locking when a firewall's authentication dialog was invoked.
