the named-bookmark might have a use that I'm not aware of, but it is useless to me. Please let the user define (toggle) fast unnamed bookmarks, in one keyboard action, no popup, just a check in the editor margin. And the key combination to jump to previous/next bookmark.
This is similar to bug 16932. I have seen two ways of doing bookmarks that I like. One is MSDEV, the other in VisualCafe. The bug referenced above is the way VisualCafe works -- which remembers the exact offset. This request sounds like the MSDEV way. There Ctrl-F2 sets an unnamed bookmark that remembers the line and puts a marker in the margin. F2 moves forward to the next bookmark in the current document only. Shift-F2 moves backwards. I found the MSDEV way very useful, but I think I like the VisualCafe way better (and I have each both full-time for several years). BTW, I am getting used to the named bookmark in a view, but it does take more time and real estate.

This is a dup of bug 6698.
I have been working on this and have a rough-cut working version. I have the following question for the Eclipse UI team: These "Fast Bookmarks" should they be: a) regular bookmarks with a predefined name say "Fast Bookmark 1", "Fast Bookmark 2" etc. b) a new type of IMarker say IMarker.FAST_BOOKMARK
OK, let met be clear on my RFE. download textpad demo (www.textpad.com), and use ctrl-f2 (togle bookmark) and [shift]f2 to jump from bookmark to another. So simple. so efficient. No more outline view to scroll and click...
