p2 ui blocks plugin installation

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Install these by unzipping into the dropins folder:
GEF-ALL-3.4.0M6             
gmf-sdk-2.1M6
m2t-jet-SDK-incubation-0.9.0M6                             m2t-jet-editor-incubation-0.9.0M6 
mdt-ocl-SDK-1.2.0M6
emf-query-SDK-1.2.0M6         
mdt-uml2-SDK-2.2.0M6
emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-I200804081800   mdt-uml2tools-SDK-incubation-0.8.0M6
emf-transaction-SDK-1.2.0M6
orbit-S20080326131619
emf-validation-SDK-1.2.0M6

There will be a missing dependency from gmf to emf examples.

2. Add the update sites:
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/subversive/0.7/update-site/
http://www.polarion.org/projects/subversive/download/eclipse/2.0/update-site/

3.Try installing one of the subversive pugins 
4.The dependency from gmf to emf blocks that installation, 
although it would not invalidate the configuration more 
than it already is.

This results from the way we are handling how plugins from the dropins are installed. Marking as a depends for now.

You mean, if I installed everything via the P2 UI the unresolved dep would result in different behavior? I can't really test this, as I cannot connect the UI to the ganymede staging update site (gives other errors). 223529 sounds very similar.

You are correct. Installing everything from the UI would solve the problem as the  what you see stems from our way to install things contained in the dropins folder.

Please make sure to open bugs against p2 describing the errors you get connecting to the ganymede update site.

Please confirm with next week I build that this issue no longer exists.
