Many many people use the patch that Randy made and can't live without it anymore because this is one of the great features. Please do the same. ReMove the left toolbar it is eating valuable space there. There is enough storage on the horizontal toolbar. See Randy H. Patch (newsgroup) what i mean.
The request is to remove the shortcut bar (vertical toolbar to the right of the workbench window) and place the items in the main toolbar (horizontal toolbar below main menu). - We need to check with the Eclipse look&feel group for their opinions on this. - We need to consider other "clients" who are using eclipse for non-ide purposes who may not agree with moving the shortcut bar. - We need to consider applications (like WSAD family of applications) who workflow requires many perspective/fast views. How distracting will it become to see the main toolbar change when perspectives/fastviews opened/closed?
is it possible to make it an option?? ( (if restart is needed for that option i don't think people will hate that) But currently i have over 21 items in the upper (horizontal) toolbar. But still i have so much space left that i can easely put in 20 more perspectives on that same bar without any problems. i think 90% of the users only have max 5-6 perspectives open. (i only 3 at one time)
the priority should really be P1 for this Because the current way is so screen display wasting. Happely i have the patch.

The ideal solution would be to have the shortcut toolbar "floatable" such that the user can place it on the top toolbar or keep it on the left side. But it's probably much more difficult to code ??
marking fixed. The perspective toolbar and fastview bars have become much more flexible in R3.0 in terms of locations and style.
