ne of the things that iSeries folks think is relatively annoying for our customers is the fact that debug perspective contains a number of views that are totally irrelevant for the iSeries developers that use (for example COBOL or RPG). Of course they can remove the views that are of no use to them, but some of them will have hard time figuring this out, others will wonder how come there are views that are not applicable to them. I was wondering if, perhaps, there is a way for a product that ships the ECLIPSE debug solution to provide a product-meaningful default set of views for the debug perspective. Of course customers will be able to alter this setting as they require new views, but we can make a good first impression.
marking as 'later' (until 2.1 feature set is determined).
How could we reconcile this with multiple installed products? If two providers say they want two different layouts, which do we choose? If a provider wants a specific layout for debugging their applications, I think the only feasible way to get this is to define their own perspective.
