hi i'am sentei, i think would be great have this feature (plug-ins profiles). for examplo many people work in j2ee and come another project and need to use mobile edition , and in another project need php or something other features that eclipse has in plug-ins ,  and what happening in this cases , the people change his version dosnloading new plugins or download another distribution from the web , but what happen if you want to have all the plug-in compatibles with your eclipse version ( i try to do that but eclipse grow up in memory and than it crashes ) and later use only a few and disable the others , you need to disable one by one and this is hard . i think would be  great t have a plug in profile and this help you to enable the plugins that you want load an use in this time ( for example j2ee profile,  mobile profile , etc , etc ) this is like perspective but is diferent because in perpective you only deternime the view and but all plugins are loaded and if you have a lot plugins your ecplise wil be slow ....  that is all that was clear ( i beleave )  thanks to the developers i of elipse, eclipse is the best IDE in all times bye bye
