Description Markus Keller CLA 2008-03-12 07:25:47 EDT
I20080311-0924

site.xml editor's Build button screws up line delimiters inside all
'site > category-def > description' tags (changed \r\n to \n).

My Steps:
- had www/jdt/ui from /cvsroot/org.eclipse/
- had jdt-ui-home/plugins/org.eclipse.jdt.jeview and jdt-ui-home/plugins/org.eclipse.jdt.jeview.feature from /cvsroot/eclipse
- opened www/jdt/ui/update-site/site.xml 1.31 on 'Site Map' page
- selected java-element-view-for-3.4 > org.eclipse.jdt.jeview.feature
- clicked Build

This is quite ugly. Any chance to get it fixed (in 3.4.1 or 3.5)?
Comment 2 Darin Wright CLA 2008-06-10 09:13:41 EDT
Let's mark it 3.5 for now.
Comment 3 Chris Aniszczyk CLA 2008-08-07 11:44:59 EDT
we will investigate in M2, won't make M1

This is *very* similar to bug 98062
In fact I'd be in favour of filing a new bug as an umbrella for both #222389 (this one) and #98062 to try to address the "println" issues we have among the whole PDE basecode (even if it's gonna be a PITA to clean everything!)
How about that?

You're right, this is a dupe.

I'll fix up the targetting of the older bug to include 3.5

Note that this limitation has existed forever so people have lived with it, but there's no reason not to fix it.
