This is a tracker bug that we can use to capture all tasks related to improving the consumability of builds from eclipse.org. Things that will fall under this bug: - SDK build issues -- bootstrapping (including bootstrapping PDE Build) -- reproducibility -- any JRE issues -- ensuring the builds are the same as eclipse.org's - ease of generating buildable source drops of non-SDK plugins/features - ease of building non-SDK plugins/features
It would also be nice if os-arch-ws triplets weren't hard-coded everywhere.
Tentatively setting 1.0 target.
Looking for a "do linux tools build with CBI" bug. This seems close enough. I think I've figured out why the linuxtools build is failing to find org.eclipse.test_3.2.0. Or, more to the point, why it's looking for it. In o.e.linuxtools.tests/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF, you specify a requirement on that plugin and version. Is that really required? Comparing to o.e.gef.test, I don't see this as a stated Require-Bundle.
This isn't the correct bug. I've opened bug 255056 to build linuxtools with CBI.
Alex is working hard on eclipse-build and hopes to have something that can be used to build a working Eclipse SDK in the 0.3 timeframe.
I'm considering eclipse-build generally usable. Please open specific bug reports if problems appear.
