I20080212-0800 and later, was OK in 3.4 M5

- new workspace
- org.eclipse.core.expressions from CVS
- expand project in Package Explorer
- Project > Clean... > All
=> CVS decorations on some elements (e.g. the project) are blinking during the build

Works fine in Resource Navigator. Looks like bug 73979, but the reason is probably  different: We're using the SimpleStyledCellLabelProvider now.

I guess SimpleStyledCellLabelProvider.update(ViewerCell) also needs the workarounds for decorators from DecoratingLabelProvider.

An easy way to find a call path that causes the blinking is to set a breakpoint in TreeItem.setText(int, String) with condition '"org.eclipse.core.expressions".equals(string)'.
