Reported by consuming product: I tried to organize test results by making a new folder and copied more than test results to the new folder and the system hanged at building workspace. If the system can't handle big volume of data at a time, there should be a way to communicate with the users, not just to hang the system.
Using the 4.5.0-200801210400 build, I could reproduce this behavior only in the Test Navigator when copying 425 execution results between folders. Jerome, we will want to provide a fix as part of the work for feature 166025. Also, we will need to add this use case to our tests. Please provide a sizing. Requested by a consuming product.
i tryed to reproduce it on a 4.5 version (copying around 460 exec file into a new folder) with latest source version from cvs i also tested it with copy/paste evolution. for me, it works as designed.... the navigator can take a bit time to build up the proxy (on task bar, saying "exploring <filename>") but it's not avoidable. on my comp, took less than 20 sec to update all proxy nodes. to make short : . navigator need proxy . copied resources => proxy are created for each of them . copy lots of resources => lots of proxy are created note that proxy creation no longer freeze the UI as it was some time ago. so, even if task take a bit time, it is done in background
Estimated sizing.
Using the latest patch for enhancement 166025, copying 453 execution results took ~30 seconds (including proxy updates), which is not abnormal for such a large number of files. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 166025 ***
