Since cosmos has legal approval to package apache muse and wsdl4j these bundles should be in CVS. Specifically they should be in orbit so that other eclipse projects can utilize these jars. If adding these jars on orbit is not feasible for the short term I think we should put these bundles in COSMOS's CVS.
MUSE was approved for COSMOS under IPZilla 1210: https://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1210 For Orbit another legal process would need to begin.
Assigning to Leonard as per Saurabh's/Jack's request.
Hi Ruth, We are planning to check-in following bundles to cosmos cvs. Can you let us know do we have legal approval for all of these. (1) muse-complete-2.2.0.jar (2) muse-osgi-soa-mini-2.2.0.jar (3) org.apache.wsdl4j_1.6.1 (With modified Manifest file).
Sheldon, Ruth, are these files OK to include in the CVS? Sheldon's comment on 7-March says they are, but Saurabh's request to Ruth for confirmation on 18-Mar, appears to have not yet received a reply. Also I'd like to confirm we still want to do this, as since this ER was created, it seems that we've been avoiding adding 3rd party jars to our CVS.
Hi Ruth, I also want to add one more point. Muse plugin available from apache comes as jar file, so if we want to use this plugin in cosmos cvs then we need to unjar that file, extract the class files and other artifacts and then check-in into cosmos cvs. Would there be any legal issue with this approach ? thanks
Changed target to future as there is no decision as to when or if this will be included.
Hello Sheldon, Do we still require muse and wsdl4j to placed in cvs? If not this bug can be closed out. Thanks Leonard
We no longer need to check in muse or wsdl4j into CVS.
Closing as no longer required.
