1. Open the Problems view
2. Go to the view toolbar menu > Preferences...
3. Type down a negative number("-6") and click OK

Result: Nothing happens and the negative number is saved in the view preferences

cloned the bug now depends on bug 234595

Even though the duplicate is still in a New state I'm closing this bug due to the following observations:
1. eclipse UI changed a bit in this part (eclipse 3.5)
2. In the new dialog negative numbers are not allowed (error + OK disabled)
