It would be very useful if the Navigator or Package Explorer views could
indicate to the user which files were read-only.

To avoid visual clutter, the user could have a toggle switch to indicate which
files were read-only / not read-only. If I had a working set of say 20 files
and at anyone time only half a dozen would/should be writable at any one time
then I would toggle the switch to indicate those files which were writable.

Indication of the property could be by having the name of the said files in a
diff colour or shade. Maybe another icon.

Again the manner of indication could also be a customisable feature.

Regards

Trevor Vaughan

Good idea. Nick, do you plan something like this for the Navigator. We should
be consistent in this manner ?
