Description Marcin Kowalski CLA 2007-10-30 07:43:21 EDT
In development teams, it is an extremally important feature to have consistent settings of compiler warnings, errors, cleanup, formatting, etc.

As far as I know, currently, with Eclipse, it is not possible to export/import settings related to JDT _only_. In my team, it makes features like 'code cleanup' useless, because we do not want do deal with inconsistent changes.

Please implement a way of easy exporting and importing settings that are not related to personal workspace settings like fonts, colors and other useless and personal stuff.

In the Export Preferences wizard, could we add a Java Compiler category (as there is for Installed JREs, or CVS Repositories) ?
Comment 2 Marcin Kowalski CLA 2007-10-30 08:40:21 EDT
I think it would do the job.
Comment 3 Martin Aeschlimann CLA 2007-10-30 09:17:42 EDT
The common way is to use project specific settings that are then shared in the team.
