I had been trying to import an existing project, but - even though the root directory contained project file - no project was displayed (in the "Projects:" list in the center of that dialog). 

It took me a while to understand, that the project happened to have a name that matched another project I had already in my workspace. 

So - instead of silently ignoring/filtering such projects it would be much less confusing and thus more user friendly and to issue a warning "project with same name already exists in workspace" (or such). That would actually point to (and hence quickly allow to fix) the problem and not lead one to search in obscure places why the heck that particular project can not be imported...
