After-the-fact, I want to add four Java source files as landmarks. I select the files, right-click and select "select as landmark", and I am presented with four dialogs, in succession, saying "Not a valid landmark, select an element within this resource instead." 1. Why shouldn't I be able to add Java source files as landmarks? 2. Why should the error appear four times? 3. Why should each display of the error not show the resource name, so, if for some reason, only one of the four elements are invalid, I could distinguish between them. 4. Clean up the error message just a little: "Not a valid landmark. Select an element within this resource instead." or "Not a valid landmark - select an element within this resource instead."
Robert: this behavior has improved some for 2.1, see bug 162335 for details. Note that your question (1) is still an open question *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 162335 ***
Thanks Mik, I have browsed 162335 and I see what you mean. Do you wnat me to open a feature request for Item #1? It seems that you may already have one, in which case, nothing further needs to come from me. Thanks.
Correct, no need to open an additional one. You could consider commenting on bug 162335, and mentioning both your points (2) and (4) there so that we make sure that future solutions address those as well.
