A publish and subscription layer should be created to decouple dojo specific function.  Note that other Web 2.0 client-side infrastructure may have thier own pub/sub model.  

This is also the case for asychronous calls to the server.

The idea is that COSMOS Web 2.0 gadgets can be reused in other Web 2.0 infrastructure.
