Mylyn's working sets tie together sets of tasks with sets of resources. Unlike task contexts which are built up automatically as a result of interaction, they are manual and require the user to select the queries and projects that are relevant. However, working sets can also have a relevant context, for example: * The Open Type dialog could use a working-set specific context to show files relevant to a set of projects of interest. * When starting a new task the working-set context could be used to pre-populate the blank task context (e.g. bug 172580) Since such a context would provide a degree-of-interest weighting it could also be used to determine the relevance of resources (e.g. projects) to the working set, for example: * If a project had landmark interest but was not part of the working set the user could be prompted to add it (allowing it to participate in the Search scope, etc).
I think it should work for ANY resource working sets. Though it is still unclear how that would work when multiple working sets are active.
Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1]. We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub. [1] https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-mylyn
