Description Scott Malinowski CLA 2007-07-06 13:22:02 EDT
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #195238 +++

Build ID: I20070621-1340

I have the same problem as described in Bug #195238. The "Link with Editor" state is not being saved for the Package Explorer. It is being saved for the outline view, however. I tried the solution from Bug #195238 (deactivate the Mylyn plugin) but the state still is not being saved.

The state appears to be saved just fine for me. However, it looks like you are not alone since someone else reported the same thing with bug #195493.

Good catch Remy.

I've reopened bug #195238 and moved it to Mylyn. Even though in this case the reporter has turned off Mylyn and the problem persists, it seems it must be Mylyn related, as we cannot reproduce it in a pure SDK build and in reported cases Mylyn was present.

I am thus marking this as a duplicate of #195238 but we'll need to see what Mylyn says to be sure.

The only way I see to turn off Mylyn, is to uncheck the box in "Plug-ins activated on startup" in Window -> Preferences... -> General -> Startup and Shutdown. Is this the method of "turning off" Mylyn referred to in bug #195238? Since turning it off worked for someone else but not for me I thought perhaps there is a different method to turn it off which I am not performing.

By the way, thank for acknowledging this bug and reopening the original report.
