Description Valentina Popescu CLA 2007-06-15 15:19:10 EDT
The SML specification allows to use EPR schemes to represent SML references. At this point the Data Center sample only makes use of the URI scheme for defining inter-document references. We'll have to extend the sample and introduce EPR references not only to make sure we cover the entire SML schema spectrum but also to generalize the sample and make it more extensible.
EPR can be used to identify resources which can only be located through WS addressing.

This enhancement will identify the data center references where EPR references can/should be used to locate a resource. These references will be changed to use the EPR scheme.

David, please take a look at this
Comment 2 Valentina Popescu CLA 2007-09-05 09:47:44 EDT
There is a proposal posted on the SML public mailing list to remove the reference to EPR from the SML specification. The rationale is that there is not enough support in terms of usecases coming from the SML group; there are also concerns that the current proposal for using EPR in SML is not in line with the EPR's scheme accepted usage.
This requirement can be reopened when the need for an EPR scheme in SML is clarified within the SML workgroup
