When playing catch up it is often helpful to know which bug reports have unusually high amount of activity (particularly many comments). This could potentially be added to the Task List via an alternate icon for high volume or addition of a decoration indicating the number of new comments.
For a long time I wanted to see number of new comments in Task List tooltip and also make that tooltip show first new comment and not the last one. PS: this feature is probably a good candidate for an arbitrary attributes on AbstractTask, so connector could populate it from the task data. Perhaps one way to generalize such data provider is to have an extension point that would take care of this population. Then decoration in task list will be trivial.
