Eclipse Orbit project has included Rhino 1.6.2 as a common lib. (Bug 185383) BIRT should look into upgrading to this Rhino release.

org.apache.derby_10.1.2.1 is also available in Orbit.

Please evaluate if it works for BIRT.

The latest Apache Rhino release 1.6R6 includes a few bug fixes that are important to BIRT. We should switch to including this release as soon as possible.

The relevant bug fixes:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281067 (memory leak issue that may affect BIRT)

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380005 (thread safety issue - still need to confirm if 1.6R6 included this fix)

I will submit an IP review for this inclusion and will schedule this as soon as the review is completed.

Are we using 1.6.6.qualifier as plugin/feature version for org.mozilla.rhino after upgrading?

Do you mean the version will be:  1.6R6.0.qualifer?

Rhino 1.6R2 is included in Orbit and it uses the version 1.6.2. (https://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1776)

Shall we email Orbits's dev mailing list to propose adding a new plugin for Rihno 1.6 R6 to Orbits?  Since Orbites is using 1.6.2, I agree with you that 1.6.6  would be more consistent.

Upgraded to 1.6R6.

When it's available in orbit downloads, we will switch to orbit. Please see bugzilla bug #193054.
