Build F2, Win98.

1. Close all Perspectives.
2. Open a Java perspective.
3. Open a CVS Repository Exploring perspective.
4. Go back to Java Perspective via shortcut bar.  Show View --> CVS 
Repositories.
5. Make CVS Repositories a Fast View.  Select it from the short cut bar. Click 
below it on the shortcut bar to close it.
6. Go to the CVS Repository Exploring perspective via shortcut bar.  The task 
view from the Java perspective appears in the CVS repositories window.  

Will attach bitmap.

It's more than cheese, the view remnants remain even if you cover the workbench 
or resize the respository view.
