Description Daniel Beckham CLA 2007-05-24 10:02:29 EDT
Build ID: M20070212-1330

Steps To Reproduce:

More information:
The PDT builder takes too long to build large projects. My project of about 6K files, runs for over 30 minutes before I have to kill Eclipse.

While a project's builder is running, files can not be saved, projects can't be created and Eclipse is generally unable to allow me to be productive.

The builder is not stuck, as I'm using the latest nightly and I do see progress, albeit, unbelievably slow.

We are having the same issue. With a project with 2200 PHP files the builder took 27 minutes (the first time).
The bug is blocker, because while the builder is running Eclipse becomes unusable (can't save files) and the build process can not be canceled (see bug 188478).

This happens with S20070401-RC3 and I20070520 (linux-gtk).
